Overview

The Toddler program at MGM for children ages 12 months to 3 years, takes advantage of the toddler's natural drive to act independently. Children have an innate ability to explore and care for themselves, others and their environment. In addition, this is a crucial period to refine their emerging fine and gross motor skills, which are the primary focus of this class. Classroom materials are always durable, quality attractive, safe, and accessible to the child. The atmosphere is sensitive, safe and loving, which puts both children and parents at ease and make for a relaxed learning environment.

Curriculum

Students in this classroom work in all areas of the Montessori curriculum including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, and Math. They learn care of self, care of the environment and how to care for others. They are expanding their vocabulary skills immensely and beginning to learn their sounds as they are in their sensitive period for language. They learn their colors and numbers and spend much of their time in exploration of the environment around them through exploration of rich materials and exciting learning opportunities prepared by the Lead Montessori Teacher.
